the car hire as this is included in our Travel Insurance. If you have not taken out our insurance you may need to take out PAI when you take delivery of the car.
LOCAL TAXES and IVA (VAT)
Our car hire prices include all local taxes and IVA. Extras items purchased
locally, such as PAI, ‘Out of Hours’ charges, will be subject to local Spanish
Government taxes (IVA) - 16% October 2006).
BABY SEATS
Baby seats are available for infants aged 6-24 months (please advise the age of the baby on date of travel). Child booster seats and baby cradles are not available. Baby seats should be ordered at the time of booking, and included on your booking form. A charge of £15 will be added to your confirmation invoice. (When booked later an amendment fee of £20 will also apply).
Petrol and other extras must be paid by credit card.
ADDITIONAL DRIVERS
There is currently no charge for ONE extra driver on the Costa Blanca. For more than one extra driver there may be an extra charge, payable locally. A charge of 2€ per day (max 10€ per booking) is payable locally for all extra drivers on
Costa del Sol.
DEPOSITS
All clients must produce a valid credit card in the name of the driver on collection of the car as a form of security deposit.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
On delivery of your car the driver(s) will be asked to sign the car hire company’s General Conditions, thus making the rental a direct contract between the driver(s) and the car hire company.
PERIOD OF RENTAL
The minimum rental period is 7 days. Car hire contracts work on a 24 hour basis. You must return the car at the same time of day you collect it. If you wish to return the car later that day, an extra day's car rental applies. This must be paid in the UK before you travel. No refunds are payable on vehicles returned early.
DRIVING LICENCE
Drivers must produce a full (pink) British driving licence held for at least one year. Our reservations staff must be informed of any endorsements on the driver’s licence as we may not be able to take your booking. Residents of EU countries other than the UK should have a ‘pink’ licence of their country of residence. All other nationalities require their national licence together with an International licence issued by the relevant authority of the country where their licence was issued. No refunds will be given for rentals aborted due to non-production of any driving licence or non-disclosed endorsements. Faxed or photocopied licences are not acceptable.
NUMBER OF PASSENGERS
Rental vehicles are insured for a maximum number of passengers. Overloading of the vehicle may render insurance invalid. Be sure to rent the most suitable vehicle for the number of people travelling in your party, together with their luggage.
DRIVER'S AGE
If you are under 25 years old or over 70 years old please inform our reservations staff at the time of booking. Age restrictions may apply.
SPECIAL REQUESTS
Baby seats should be requested at the time of booking. The charge for baby seats where applicable will be added to your confirmation invoice. Please ensure you do order these items at the time of booking as an amendment fee of £20 will be incurred if there is any later change to the booking. For safety's sake, baby seats will not be fitted, and should be fitted by parents or those responsible for the child using the seat.
PROVISION OF CARS
Please note that suppliers can refuse to provide a vehicle to any customer who is, in their opinion, unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances your contract with us will terminate immediately, and we will have no further liability to you. Drink/drive laws in Spain are more severe than in the UK.
INSURANCE EXCLUSIONS AND EXCESS
In common with most car rental companies the insurance cover offered does not cover tyres, windscreens, the roof, the underside and interior of the car and towing charges. You may therefore be liable for damage to these items.
CAR TYPE/SUITABILITY
We are unable to guarantee a particular make or model of car. The car types shown in these price lists are for guidance only and may be substituted for an alternative, similar or upgraded car (at no extra cost). If you are in any way dissatisfied with the standard of the car, you must advise the local supplier immediately and Aspects of Spain in writing within 28 days of your return. Neither the car hire companies nor Aspects of Spain can accept liability where this procedure is not followed.
LUGGAGE
When choosing your car please bear in mind the amount of luggage you might have. People carriers are just that - and there is not much room for luggage - so very often two smaller cars may be more practical. Roof bars are NOT AVAILABLE for any cars.
